Equans is looking for a Performance Operational Manager to join our team at Birmingham on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time role working
37.5 hours per week.

The role will be covering our Birmingham schools contract, the post holder will ensure the security, maintenance, and availability of the education premises, including its furniture, fittings, equipment, and mechanical and electrical assets.

To maintain a safe and satisfactory physical environment for all users, and to promote the efficient use of the Council's assets in support of the educational objectives of the establishment as well as the activities of other site users.

There is a degree of complexity within this role, requiring a clear understanding of what is included-and excluded-within the client contract.

The position also demands strong problem solving skills to address issues arising within the facilities, along with solid knowledge of educational compliance and safeguarding.

The Performance Operational Manager will support the Senior Account Manager in ensuring full compliance, strong operational standards, and cohesive team performance across the site, providing effective leadership to on site teams, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all daily operations.

Ensure a consistently clean, safe and well presented site environment and act as the primary on site representative for Equans, building positive relationships and ensuring a professional presence for the school.

Act as the primary on site representative for Equans, building positive relationships and ensuring a professional presence for the school and deliver a flexible and responsive service that reflects local needs, accommodates specific client requests, and supports any additional duties agreed with the Senior Account Manager What will you deliver?Provide direct line management and leadership to Performance Supervisors across designated schools within the Birmingham portfolioOversee day to day operational performance, ensuring effective delivery of PPM, reactive maintenance and remedial worksReview and approve subcontractor RAMS, ensuring full adherence to company policies, procedures and statutory requirementsManage staff resourcing, including sickness and absence reporting, holiday approvals and ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all timesAct as the primary on site representative for Equans, maintaining strong, proactive communication with school clients and fostering positive working relationshipsEnsure all tasks are accurately logged through the helpdesk system and that processes are followed consistentlyMonitor, manage and drive timely completion of open jobs across assigned site(s), preventing SLA breaches and avoiding financial penaltiesPromote and maintain a strong health and safety culture, ensuring employees and subcontractors operate safely and in compliance with all regulationsUtilise technical expertise to support site teams and provide informed guidance to colleaguesConduct Management Safety Visits and ensure all safety observations and near misses are recorded within AIMSEnsure all actions raised within AIMS following internal or external audits are completed swiftly and in accordance with compliance requirementsEnsure site teams remain compliant with all mandatory training requirements and Toolbox Talks are delivered and recordedProvide support in emergency situations, including fire evacuations, and operate fire panels/systems when requiredAssist with the provision of site information, including drawings, measurements and technical detail as neededEnsure all Authority Damage documentation is completed, signed and submitted to the administration team each monthProduce and submit monthly operational reports to the Senior Account Manager by the first working day of each monthEnsure effective supply chain management that delivers consistent, high quality performance across all contracted servicesWork flexibly, including occasional overtime or weekend cover, to support lettings or additional school requirementsAttend all required meetings with the Senior Account Manager, SPV and Authority, representing site performance and operational updatesBe formally appointed as the Responsible Person for all relevant and applicable disciplines under the contract, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and the effective implementation of associated responsibilities (e.g., fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos management, etc)What can we offer you?
