We are looking for a proactive, high performing, driven Operational Governance & Controls Manager to join our Property Operations team. Our Property Operations teams span across our branch network, admin buildings, data centres, security and health and safety. This is a critical role to ensure that we meet our service, regulatory and compliance activities. The role will be a key interface across the SLT in Property Operations and with our key external partners. The role will be supported by two Business Analysts.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, London, Northampton or Bournemouth offices. If you are aligned to our Glasgow hub (as this is your nearest location), there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. This is anticipated to be weekly in Glasgow.
What you'll be doingYou will collaborate extensively across the Property Operations team to provide governance, insight and challenge that enables Nationwide to ensure we have safe, sustainable, and cost effective environments. You'll also own and maintain governance schedules, reporting and management of processes and procedures. You will need to work with business owners, external partners and key internal risk partners to ensure we stay abreast of regulatory and legislative change which may impact the risk environment. You will be a key part of the Property Operations SLT.
About you- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
- Extensive knowledge of governance frameworks, including ownership and maintenance
- Good understanding of risk processes and policies, ensuring safe and compliant operations
- Experience using data to identify opportunities and drive operational improvements
- Proven ability to manage and collaborate with third party partners to deliver strategic and commercial outcomes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, present, and facilitate effectively
