Operational Buyer

Our client, a global leader in process equipment for the pharmaceutical sector is looking for an Operational Buyer to reinforce their procurement team. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-efficient supply of custom-made mechanical components (95% metal) sourced worldwide.

Your responsibilities include:

• Executing and managing purchase orders for mechanical components and raw materials
• Monitoring supplier confirmations, delivery schedules, and logistics to ensure on-time availability of parts
• Collaborating daily with production, warehouse, engineering, and project teams to fulfill material requirements
• Handling order modifications, delays, or discrepancies in close coordination with suppliers
• Maintaining accurate procurement data in the ERP system (SAP)
• Supporting inventory control and stock level optimization in line with production planning
• Liaising with Strategic Buyers to flag recurring issues or suggest supplier performance improvements

Your Profile

• 3+ years of experience in operational or tactical purchasing (metalworking, machinery, or manufacturing environment preferred)
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to interpret technical drawings
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-minded approach to procurement challenges
• Familiar with ERP systems (SAP or similar)
• Fluent in English; Dutch or French is an asset
• Hands-on and communicative team player, ready to work in a fast-paced environment
