Onsite Support Engineer

Job Title: Onsite Support Engineer
Location: Southampton
Duration: Six months initial, with potential for extension
Rate: Up to £200 per day via an approved umbrella company
Shift Pattern: Mon to Fri (Site Cover from 08:00 - 18:00; 8hr shift to include 30 min break)

Hiring for a reputed client, this is a hands on contract role at their R&D Head Office in Southampton, supporting a global account where your impact is visible every day.

What you'll be doing:
. Manage fault calls, service requests and planned changes within the IT support environment
. Provide "Smart Hands" support across on-site infrastructure needs
. Support and help operate the BAT "TechDeck", including:
. PC/Laptop builds
. OS configuration and setting up devices
. Active Directory administration
. Some hardware repair
. Tackle complex cases end-to-end, taking ownership from start to finish
. Build strong working relationships with end users, including VIP/Executives/Senior Management and their support teams
. Complete documentation and maintain accurate records
. Work closely to deliver deskside support across the site coverage window

What you'll bring:
. Confidence communicating with people at all levels and representing the client experience professionally
. Strong organisational and admin skills, with excellent attention to detail
. Solid deskside support capability
. Experience using service/support tooling such as S-NOW (or comparable workflows)
. Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows 11 environments
. Asset management experience, with a process driven approach
. Comfortable producing clear documentation as part of your day to day work
. A willingness to learn AV support (desirable)
