OCI Platform Architect - Outside IR35 - Wokingham - IAM - Oracle - Zero-trust

We are seeking an OCI Platform Architect to support a large-scale Oracle Cloud Infrastructure transition programme. The role focuses on leading technical design, migration strategy, service uplift, and alignment to an evolving cloud platform operating model. The architect will work across OCI infrastructure, identity integration, resilience planning, and transition execution while collaborating closely with platform, security, and service stakeholders to ensure a secure, scalable, and operationally efficient cloud environment. Essential Skills:

• Deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and architecture.

• Strong experience designing OCI networking including VCNs, FastConnect, NSGs, and hybrid connectivity.

• Experience delivering OCI platform services including:

  • Compute, storage, and load balancing

  • Oracle DBaaS and Exadata Cloud (including licensing and support model awareness)

  • OCI Identity and Access Management, IDCS, and API Cloud Service

• Strong understanding and practical application of OCI Well-Architected Framework principles including:

  • Security and compliance (Zero Trust, RBAC, data protection, isolation)

  • Reliability and resilience (fault domains, DR strategy, service quotas)

  • Performance and cost optimisation

  • Operational efficiency and monitoring strategy

  • Distributed, hybrid, and multi-cloud architecture

• Experience integrating OCI identity with enterprise identity providers (eg Entra ID/IDAM solutions).

• Strong documentation, stakeholder engagement, and technical leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct full discovery and documentation of existing OCI platforms, including applications, networking, databases, and integration points.

• Identify technical, contractual, and security dependencies across the cloud estate.

• Design transition and migration architecture options, including:

  • OCI-to-OCI transitions

  • OCI-to-Azure transition options

  • Hybrid multi-cloud transition models

• Provide comparative option assessments with clear recommendations and technical justification.

• Design and define a target state OCI platform blueprint including:

  • Networking architecture

  • IAM and identity integration

  • Monitoring and operational tooling

  • Disaster recovery and resilience strategy

  • Compute and PaaS service design

• Support transition execution and provide technical assurance throughout migration activities.

• Collaborate with security, platform, and service teams to ensure secure-by-design implementation and operational readiness.

Location: Wokingham - 2 times per week
Contract: Initially 6 month
Rate: up to £700 per day (Outside IR35)
