Ocean Import Coordinator - Ipswich - Up to £38,000

A highly respected, multi award winning logistics and supply chain solutions provider is looking for a Sea Freight Import Coordinator to join its busy import team based in Ipswich.

In this role, you will manage sea freight shipments from origin through to final delivery while delivering a high level of customer service and ensuring efficient operational performance. Key Responsibilities
  • Managing end to end sea freight import shipments
  • Liaising with overseas agents, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely cargo dispatch
  • Handling shipments accurately within CargoWise in line with agreed KPIs
  • Maintaining high standards of data quality to ensure clients receive real time updates via the company's visibility platform
  • Ensuring the timely receipt and processing of shipping documentation and customs clearance information
  • Coordinating and organising final delivery arrangements in line with client requirements
  • Proactively tracking shipments and resolving delays or operational issues
  • Ensuring client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed
  • Producing accurate invoicing and job costing
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships to support long term business growth
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in sea freight import operations within a freight forwarding environment (essential)
  • Experience with CargoWise or a similar Transport Management System (desirable)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • High attention to detail with effective problem solving skills
  • A proactive and solutions focused approach
  • Experience with purchase order management is advantageous
