Qualification: Bsc Hons Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapist registration with HCPC
Essential Car Documentation: This post requires you to hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for work. You will receive the Essential Car User Allowance.
DBS clearance: This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
We are looking for an occupational therapist or physiotherapist to work across the Moving and Handling team and the OT team, carrying out risk assessments for disabled children and adults across the city.
The right candidate will be responsible for training family carers and paid assistants, assessing for moving and handling equipment to reduce care and promote safety and independence, assessing for seating, bathing and toilet equipment, and completing comprehensive risk assessments for care agencies and families.
Key Functions- Carry out functional assessments for complex bespoke equipment and adaptations.
- Complete assessments for major adaptations to provide safe access to sleeping, bathing, toileting facilities and the property.
- Complete moving and handling risk assessments, produce moving and handling plans and facilitate training for family and paid carers.
