Occupational Therapist - North Somerset Council

Hybrid Role Community, Office & Home Working 37 Hours per Week

Enhanced DBS Required

North Somerset Council is seeking four experienced Occupational Therapists to join our expanding Reablement Services:

  • 2 x Occupational Therapists - Community Reablement (Hospital Discharge Support)
  • 2 x Occupational Therapists - Bed-Based Reablement

This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals to regain independence and improve their quality of life.

About the Role

You will play a key part in delivering high-quality reablement interventions across the North Somerset area.

This hybrid role involves a mix of community visits, office-based work, and home working, so flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting community visits (mileage included)
  • Managing a full and varied caseload independently
  • Completing functional assessments and delivering tailored reablement plans
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Promoting independence and positive outcomes for service users

Contract Details:

  • Contract Length: 6+ months, ongoing
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Location: North Somerset (local candidates preferred due to travel requirements)

What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from Occupational Therapists with strong clinical skills and a passion for person-centred care.

Essential Requirements:

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills with a focus on reablement
  • Previous experience in social care reablement or intermediate care services
  • Ability to manage a full caseload autonomously
  • Commitment to promoting independence and achieving positive outcomes
  • Flexibility to work across community, office and home-based settings
