The Job:
A well-established commercial nursery is seeking a Nursery Crop Manager to take the lead on crop production across multiple sites. The role focuses on producing high-quality plants in a cost-effective and efficient manner while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing plant production operations across nursery locations
- Collaborating with commercial teams for timely procurement of seeds and materials
- Forecasting crop volumes and planning crop trials to meet production goals
- Monitoring pest, disease, and weed control in line with industry hygiene and safety standards
- Ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements (e.g. LEAF, Red Tractor)
- Supervising and developing crop production teams, including performance and holiday planning
- Managing nursery equipment use and site cleanliness
- Providing regular updates, stock tracking, and end-of-season reports to senior leadership
- Supporting knowledge-sharing and training across departments on best horticultural practices

- Knowledge of crop protection and sustainable growing practices
- Willingness to participate in weekend rotas as part of shared management duties
