About the Nurse Case Manager Role:
We are seeking experienced nurses to join our team in a dynamic, diverse, and fulfilling role. This presents an exceptional opportunity for nurses to transition from clinical settings to a UK office-based position, while continuing to apply their nursing expertise in supporting patients who value nurse advice. No two days are the same in this role.
The role also offers the opportunity to undertake flight nursing outside of office work.
Position Overview: Nurse Case ManagerWorking as part of the Medical Assistance team, the role includes:
- Providing efficient, cost-effective, and clinically supportive patient service on behalf of Healix clients, from Monday to Sunday.
- Managing all new and ongoing emergency medical assistance, claims, and repatriation cases in collaboration with coordinators and the wider organization, using problem-solving skills to assist patients often in stressful foreign hospital environments.
- Offering non-diagnostic medical advice directly to policyholders and Medical Helpline clients.
- Providing clinical input to the OH team in medical assessments of individuals pre-deployment to reduce overseas risks.
- Serving as a point of escalation for patient, client, team member, or overseas clinician care, utilizing expert nursing knowledge.
- Providing emergency airline employee health services.
- Checking equipment after repatriations and air ambulance services, ensuring sufficient supplies are available for workload management.

While full-time hours are preferred, flexible arrangements may be possible depending on experience. The role is mainly office-based with occasional work from home. Shift patterns run from 8 am to 10 pm, Monday to Friday. As part of a 24/7 global health team, some additional flexibility may be required, with night shifts covered by the New Zealand team.

About the roleAbout You:
- Registered General Nurse with a current NMC pin.
- Ideally 4+ years recent acute care nursing experience, including critical care (ICU, A&E, HDU, CCU, acute surgical nursing).
- Experience in clinical case management is advantageous.
- Exceptional telephone etiquette and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.
- Experience in travel health, cruise ship nursing, military nursing, public health, humanitarian work, or NGO sectors is beneficial.
- Adept at identifying critical medical issues and escalating them appropriately.
- Ability to work under pressure, demonstrating adaptability and empathy.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
- Enjoy working collaboratively, planning both short and long-term patient care strategies.

Required Criteria- Current NMC pin; minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience at Band 5 or above.
- Basic IT skills; excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Experience in government, military, overseas environments, medical insurance, assistance sectors, or repatriation is advantageous.
