NRSWA and Permitting Compliance Officer - Highway Works Permit Team

2-Year Fixed Term Contract

Solihull Council invites applications for a Permitting Compliance Officer to join the Highway Works Permit Team. You will contribute to the continued success and growth of Solihull by helping to minimise disruption to road users, residents, and businesses, and by ensuring works are carried out safely and to a high standard during execution and on completion.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and inspecting works on-site.
  • Attending site meetings and liaising with Highway Work promoters.
  • Issuing defects, fixed penalty notices, and overruns.
  • Supporting records management and providing technical support.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Council's statutory Traffic Management duties.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 qualification in Traffic or Highways Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven knowledge of traffic management and work coordination systems.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in using various systems and applications.
  • A proactive approach with excellent negotiation, influencing, and diplomacy skills.
