I'm working with a leading national law firm that is seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join its highly regarded Charities team, based in either Newcastle or Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer who is passionate about making a real difference, while working in a dynamic and supportive team environment.

The Role As part of this nationally recognised team, you'll work with a wide range of clients in the charitable and not-for-profit sector, including:

• Major service providers and grant-making bodies
  
  
• Religious organisations and professional societies
  
  
• Educational institutions such as universities, independent schools, and academies
  
  
• Social enterprises, CICs, and national/international NGOs
  
  

You'll handle varied and engaging legal work involving charity governance, regulatory advice, contracts, mergers, restructures, and more-often collaborating with colleagues in corporate, real estate, and commercial teams.

This is a chance to build genuine client relationships and develop your technical expertise in a specialist field that is both intellectually rewarding and socially impactful.

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who brings:

• Genuine enthusiasm for charities and not-for-profit work
  
  
• Newly Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) status (or qualifying in 2025)
  
  
• Excellent drafting and communication skills, and a collaborative, client-focused mindset
  
  
• A 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and ideally experience managing client relationships
  
  
• A willingness to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team
  
  

Prior experience in charity law is a plus, but not essential-we're open to candidates from commercial, public, or education sector backgrounds who are looking to pivot into this purpose-led space.
