GP (Senior Partner); Karen is a formidable and no-nonsense Doctor; she cares deeply for her patients, but doesn't suffer fools gladly, and won't mollycoddle anyone; patients who fail to follow her instructions, or who waste her time, get short shrift. Dr Wilton expects things to be done properly; procedures to be followed, "t"'s crossed, and "i"'s dotted; when she's in the surgery, everyone sits up a little straighter, and things run a little smoother; when she's away well, things relax a bit more.

part-time GP - Jennifer has recently returned to work as a GP after taking a career break to start a family; her husband is a teacher, and they both work part-time to share parenting; Jennifer is competent and compassionate; intimidated by Dr Wilton, she worries that her career break has left her out of touch with advances in medicine.; she feels sorry for Anil (physiotherapist), and wishes he'd act on his dreams of adventure.
