Job Description

I am working with a specialist accounting practice looking to strengthen their Not for Profit team with a Senior Manager. This is a Partner-led practice, proud to remain free from the recent wave of Private Equity backing and invested in developing the next generation of equity partners in the firm internally.

The Not for Profit team is their largest and best performing. They also boast one of the largest client portfolios across this space, and are very much known as sector specialists. The team is fantastic, offering a supportive and collaborative culture, and are champions of internal development - there are some excellent stories within the firm of trainees working their way up to partner.

From charities to academies, housing associations to education, you will find an engaging and varied range of client sectors and sizes within the Not for Profit space. If you love the sector and what to be part of one of the strongest teams the sector has to offer, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. You must have experience servicing UK-based Not for Profit clients, possess demonstrable people management experience, and have operated in a client-facing position previously.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in taking ownership of and overseeing a diverse portfolio of clients across the Not for Profit space, from charities through to housing and education, and where possible identify and develop new opportunities within the sector
  • Act as a key client contact, taking on more responsibilities in a client facing capacity
  • Manage and oversee the entirety of the Audit process, delegating where needed and reviewing work in adherence with the high standards expected of the team and wider firm
  • Stay abreast of updated technical material and developments within the sector
  • Assist in the day to day running of the Audit function, managing and coaching juniors and embodying a subject matter expert across both audit and not for profit.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience servicing UK-based clients within the Not for Profit space
  • Experience managing an Audit team in a UK Practice environment
  • Client-facing experience with relevant clients within the space
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Deep-rooted interest in the Not for Profit space and a genuine desire to work with these clients.
