Job Description

MannaCare is a respected not-for-profit aged care provider serving the Doncaster community for over 40 years. We deliver residential aged care, rehabilitation services, support at home and community programs, grounded in our iCARE values of Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

As we enter a period of sector reform, growth and strategic development, we are seeking experienced and values-aligned Non-Executive Directors to join our Board.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the governance and future direction of a community-based organisation at a pivotal time in the aged care sector.

Board Directors provide strategic oversight, financial stewardship, and governance leadership to ensure:

  • High quality, safe and person-centred care
  • Financial sustainability and growth readiness
  • Compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Strong organisational culture and leadership
  • Long term community impact
Skills & Experience Sought

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Clinical governance (aged care, health, nursing, allied health)
  • Finance, audit and risk
  • Property, capital development or infrastructure
  • Legal or regulatory compliance
  • Strategy, growth or mergers & acquisitions
  • Marketing, brand strategy and community engagement

Prior Board experience is desirable. AICD qualifications are highly regarded. We welcome individuals who bring strategic insight, sector knowledge, and governance experience to support MannaCare's continued growth, sustainability, and community presence.

About You

You are:

  • Passionate about community and aged care reform
  • Strategic and future-focused
  • Comfortable providing constructive oversight and challenge
  • Committed to ethical governance and strong accountability
  • Able to contribute to subcommittees (e.g., Finance & Audit, People & Governance)
Commitment
  • Approximately 6-8 Board meetings per year
  • Committee participation as required
  • Attendance at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
  • Attendance at any Special General Meetings as required
  • Strategic planning sessions
  • Board papers review and endorsement

    This is a remunerated Non-Executive Director role. Directors receive annual remuneration of $15,000, in recognition of their governance responsibilities and commitment.
