Senior Associate - Neurotrauma (Paediatrics) Newcastle upon Tyne Full Time Hybrid Working Award-Winning Firm

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join the highly regarded Neurotrauma team at a leading full-service law firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Role

This is a specialist role within the firm's award-winning Claimant Personal Injury department, focusing on paediatric brain and spinal injury claims. The team represents clients across the UK, working collaboratively with medical professionals, case managers, and rehabilitation experts to ensure early intervention and the best possible outcomes for children and their families following life-changing injuries.

The successful candidate will manage a varied and complex caseload of neurotrauma matters, taking a proactive, client-centred approach to litigation and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling a caseload of paediatric neurotrauma injury claims, both pre-litigation and litigated
  • Liaising with clients, medical experts, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Conducting detailed liability and quantum investigations
  • Drafting Schedules of Loss and analysing expert evidence
  • Attending court hearings and managing case progression
  • Supporting the growth of the Neurotrauma team through business development and relationship building
  • Delivering an exceptional client experience throughout the litigation process
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an experienced solicitor with a strong track record in serious injury and neurotrauma litigation
  • Ideally have demonstrable experience of working on paediatric claims
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of the CPR, relevant case law, and quantum calculations
  • Be confident dealing with high-value, complex matters involving brain and spinal cord injuries
  • Have excellent communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills
  • Be comfortable working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Ideally have a strong network within the neurotrauma field
