An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of a complex, multi-site enterprise network environment supporting critical business operations.
This role offers the chance to play a key part in the ongoing development, optimisation, and modernisation of network infrastructure, ensuring high levels of performance, resilience, and security across multiple locations.
Working closely with infrastructure, security, and technology teams, you will lead the delivery of network improvements, support strategic projects, and provide technical expertise across a diverse networking estate.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, support, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites.
- Manage and optimise LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, and connectivity services.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex network incidents and performance issues.
- Drive improvements in network resilience, redundancy, and failover capabilities.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of SD-WAN technologies.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimisation.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
- Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement permanent resolutions.
- Support network transformation initiatives and infrastructure upgrade projects.
- Maintain network documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Ensure network services meet availability, security, and performance requirements.
- Proven experience supporting and managing enterprise network infrastructure within a multi-site environment.
- Experience designing, implementing, or supporting SD-WAN solutions.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Routing and Switching (Cisco or equivalent)
- Enterprise Firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar)
- Enterprise Wireless Networking
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting Tools
- Strong understanding of:
- SD-WAN
- Network Segmentation
- Zero Trust Architecture
- Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery Principles
- Experience leading technical investigations and driving service improvements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience within high-availability or mission-critical environments.
- Exposure to Azure and AWS networking technologies.
- Knowledge of network automation, scripting, or Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with network security technologies and best practices.
- CCNA, CCNP, NSE, or equivalent industry certifications.
- High levels of network availability and service reliability.
- Improved connectivity and wireless performance across all sites.
- Successful delivery of network modernisation and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Reduced recurring incidents through proactive monitoring and root cause analysis.
- Strong collaboration across infrastructure, security, and technology teams.
