Aberdeen, 3-month contract, start ASAP, Inside IR35

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with hands-on experience in networking, switch configuration, and deployment. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can support customer tasks from configuring, deploying, and maintaining network infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proven experience in networking and switch configuration (eg, Cisco, Aruba, HP, etc.)
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN principles, routing, and switching
• Strong troubleshooting skills across the OSI model (Layer 1-3) including physical connectivity, MAC, ARP, and IP-based connectivity checks
• Experience establishing and configuring VPNs, including Phase 1/Phase 2 negotiation, encryption standards, shared information, and security policies
• Ability to identify, respond to, and mitigate suspicious activity or potential cyber security threats (eg, isolating affected devices, threat analysis, patching, escalation to management)
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network Switches and related infrastructure
• Ensure smooth rollout of networking solutions and minimise downtime through proactive monitoring and issue resolution
• Methodical approach to problem-solving and strong documentation skills
