Job Description

As a Senior Technology Architect at Infosys, you will design and optimize high level network architectures for emerging technologies, lead proof of concepts and field trials, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, high performance access networks.

Responsibilities

• Create high level architecture and impact assessment for new technologies.
• Work with the network access team to develop specific architecture and design as needed.
• Create environments and participate in proof of concepts to validate the architecture.
• Translate architecture into high level network design for HFC and fiber based access networks (DOCSIS/PON).
• Collaborate with OEM vendors to provide solutions and review test results.
• Participate in field trials and support first roll out activities.
• Troubleshoot existing network designs.
• Analyze and optimize existing network solutions.
• Perform performance optimization of existing networks and ensure network performance.
• Incorporate security measures into existing or new design, handling security threats at the design stage.
• Interact with stakeholders-employees, vendors, customers-to clarify requirements and address issues.
• Guide and mentor team members on tasks, ensuring all requirements are met in the design.
• Virtualize CCAP and develop an observability framework for the same.
• Design and implement a converged aggregation network in Layer 2, SR MPLS, and SRv6.
• Work with the OSS team to integrate network elements into provisioning systems.
• Create an observability framework and telemetry collection for access networks, integrating with data lakes.
• Integrate automation and orchestration architectures.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience with DOCSIS and PON technologies.
• Strong knowledge of HFC and fiber based access network architecture.
• Expertise in DOCSIS specifications and PON technology standards.
• Experience guiding teams to implement new designs and architectures.
• Deep understanding of networking standards such as TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, MPLS, segment routing, traffic engineering, EVPN, IPoWDM, timing protocols, and multicast protocols.
• Knowledge of network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, RPD, CMTS, CM, ONT, ONU, OLT, BNG, RADIUS, etc.
• Familiarity with network virtualization, SR IOV, and DPDK.
• Experience in network security design.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux operating systems and command line tools.
• Hands on experience creating design and architecture documents for networks.
• Understanding of triple play services and B2B services for telecom.
• Experience with telemetry standards and data lake integration (gNMI, YANG, SNMPv3c, Telegraph, etc.).
• Experience with orchestration and autonomous networks (NETCONF, YANG, SDN controller, closed loop assurance).
• Experience integrating network elements into OSS.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with passive access technologies (cabinets, amplifiers, fiber nodes, etc.).
• Knowledge of modulation technologies such as QPSK, QAM, OFDM, and OFDMA.
• Familiarity with Profile Management Applications (PMA).
• Experience with Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM).
• Understanding of IP/MPLS, BNG, and CPE.
• Knowledge of Agile/scrum methodologies.
• Business case creation skills.
