Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a highly technical Network Engineer/Architect with strong hands-on experience across Cumulus Linux, EVPN/VXLAN and modern data centre networking.

This is a genuinely hands-on position. You'll be designing, building and troubleshooting complex network fabrics down to packet level, working across Linux networking, BGP EVPN, VXLAN and high-performance switching environments.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement large-scale EVPN/VXLAN data centre fabrics, including L2/L3, IRB, multi-VRF and multi-tenant environments.
  • Build and operate networking environments based on Cumulus Linux.
  • Troubleshoot complex control-plane and data-plane issues across BGP EVPN, VXLAN, Linux Kernel networking and switching hardware.
  • Work extensively with the Linux networking stack including iproute2, netlink, nftables/iptables, bridges and VRFs.
  • Work with BGP and FRR at an expert level, including route targets, routing policy and scale considerations.
  • Diagnose packet-level issues using tools including tcpdump, dropwatch, perf and bpftool.
  • Collaborate with engineering and automation teams to build scalable and repeatable network solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • Deep hands-on Cumulus Linux experience.
  • Strong production experience with EVPN/VXLAN.
  • Expert-level BGP knowledge.
  • Strong Linux networking and packet-flow knowledge.
  • Experience with FRR or similar routing stacks.
  • Strong understanding of data centre switching and ASIC behaviour.
  • CCIE-level Routing & Switching/Data Center knowledge; certification is not essential.
  • Experience working within large-scale data centre environments.

Package

  • £100,000+
