National Sales Manager - Engineering-focused Solutions

Field-Based Role (with Head Quarters based in Crewe, Cheshire)Salary: £55,000 per annum + Company Car + Annual Bonus up to 25% SalaryContract: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

A leading organisation within the engineering solutions sector is seeking a dynamic National Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing sales team. This field-based position requires a commercially driven leader who can drive growth, develop customer relationships, and mentor a team across the UK.

You will be responsible for setting strategy, supporting a technical sales pipeline, and ensuring targets are delivered through proactive leadership and structured team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a national sales team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
  • Drive sales across a portfolio of engineering-focused products, services, and solutions.
  • Set team targets and ensure consistent delivery through effective planning and execution.
  • Engage with customers to introduce new products, services, and pricing updates.
  • Develop and monitor lead generation strategies to maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
  • Oversee a defined UK territory and key customer accounts.
  • Build expertise in market trends, financials, products, and customer needs - contributing to team knowledge and capability.
  • Act as the senior point of leadership for a small, established sales team.
  • Manage complex accounts, support negotiations, and influence commercial terms.
  • Plan territory or account strategies and manage resources effectively to maximise impact.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A relevant academic degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong background in technical or engineering-based sales.
  • Proven experience in leading a sales team and managing national accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop people while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Comfortable managing complex sales processes and working with both existing and new customers.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping technical knowledge up to date.
