Job Description
National Police Chiefs Council - Performance Management Committee Coordinator

Position: Performance Management Committee Coordinator (Band A). Contract: Fixed term 6 months until 31/03/2027. Salary: £83,589 per annum, including £3,009 in allowances. Hours: 36 per week. Location: Remote working nationally within the UK (occasional travel to NPCC HQ at St James' Park Underground Station and other police locations across the UK).

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the PMCC Chair in delivering national coordination of a wide range of portfolios.
  • Chair the Performance Management Committee and represent NPCC at a variety of executive and senior level forums and meetings (e.g. Police Performance Monitoring Group, HMICFRS Technical Advisory Group, Police Performance System Steering Group, and HMICFRS PEEL External Reference Group).
  • Coordinate the national PMCC governance landscape across business, governance, monitoring, technical, security and information practitioners.
  • Represent the Committee Chair and NPCC at key meetings when required.
Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of policing performance management systems, policies and processes.
  • Strategic thinking with an understanding of how the police service operates within the broader societal and economic environment.
  • Communication skills to engage with and manage senior and executive level stakeholders, building effective networks both internally and externally.
  • Analytical ability to gather and interpret a variety of complex information and data, producing meaningful reports that influence strategic decision making.
  • Extensive experience in the police performance arena (Subject Matter Expert).

Travel

Occasional national travel may be required. Travel expenses will be paid if a location allowance is not received or if travel falls outside the home to work journey. NPCC will cover overnight accommodation when necessary.

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material; applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e level before taking up the post.
