About this opportunityWe are searching for a senior leader and housing sector specialist to join us as National Housing Survey Lead.
This is an exciting senior leadership opportunity; a brand new role for our Built Asset Solutions service. An ownership role, you'll be a market-facing leader, shaping Gleeds' stock condition survey and asset intelligence offer across the UK housing sector and enhancing our capabilities in a significant growth market.
You will focus on business growth & working winning, defining strategies and accountability for the growth and performance of a significant revenue-generating service line. You will also lead the teams and client relationships that deliver it.
We are looking for a recognised sector leader, someone who understands housing providers' boardroom challenges, has a track record of winning and delivering large-scale survey frameworks, and can combine commercial ambition with the technical credibility to lead a national team.

- Broad, in-depth housing survey experience
- Detailed knowledge and practical experience of delivery of building surveying tasks;
- Sound knowledge of construction methods and materials;
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies;
- Ability to administer construction contracts as Contracts Administrator and Employers Agent;
- Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts;
- Ability to motivate others (including providing support and encouragement) and to lead high performance teams;
- Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written;
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changes;
- Excellent problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills;
- Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily;
- Sound ICT Skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Competent at negotiating sufficient fees to both complete services and generate required profit levels;
- Ability to work as part of a team and lead teams.
