Days and Hours Required:

  • Monday 6:00pm-8:30pm
  • Tuesday 7:00am-9:00pm
  • Thursday 8:00am-9:00pm

The family is happy for Tuesday to be worked as a continuous day. Alternatively, they are open to agreeing a break during the day if this would suit the successful candidate better. Any break arrangement and the resulting contracted hours would be agreed in advance. Some flexibility for occasional additional hours may also be required by prior agreement.

Overview

A busy family based in Godstone is looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Nanny to care for their 18-month-old child.

The family has a casual and relaxed home environment, although both parents have hectic working schedules and regularly work from home. The household can therefore be busy and fast-paced, and they are looking for a dependable Nanny who is comfortable working in a home where a parent may be present and can adapt positively when required.

The role offers two full working days together with a short Monday evening. The successful candidate will provide attentive, age-appropriate care, support the child's development and manage their meals, activities, personal care and daily routines during working hours.

Key Responsibilities Childcare and Development
  • Providing warm, attentive and age-appropriate care for the child.
  • Ensuring the child's safety, well-being and development at all times.
  • Engaging the child in interactive play and suitable educational activities.
  • Supporting the child's development in partnership with the family.
  • Encouraging early literacy through reading books, stories and conversation.
  • Organising age-appropriate outdoor activities and outings, including visits to local parks.
Meals and Personal Care
  • Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks appropriate for the child's age.
  • Preparing bottles as required.
  • Carrying out nappy changes.
  • Bathing the child and maintaining their personal hygiene.
  • Carrying out the child's bath and bedtime routine during the evening hours.
Child-Related Organisation
  • Keeping the child's bedroom and play areas clean, tidy and organised.
  • Tidying away toys, books and activity materials after use.
  • Keeping the child's belongings organised and readily available.
Requirements Essential

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous professional nanny experience, ideally caring for toddlers of a similar age.
  • A happy, positive and enthusiastic approach to childcare.
  • A good understanding of early childhood development.
  • The ability to plan engaging and age-appropriate activities.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to supporting a busy family.
  • The confidence to work independently and manage the child's care and routines during working hours.
  • A reliable, responsible and safety-conscious manner.
  • A current Paediatric First Aid qualification, or a commitment to obtain this before commencing employment.
  • A full driving licence and use of their own reliable car.
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach.
Desirable
  • Experience working in a household where parents regularly work from home.
  • Flexibility to provide occasional additional hours by prior agreement.
  • Willingness to travel with the family occasionally if required, with all arrangements agreed in advance.
