Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) is recruiting a Named Nurse for Children in Care. This is fixed term to cover a secondment, and will involve job sharing.
Main duties of the job- The Named Nurse holds responsibility for the clinical, operational, strategic leadership and management of the CFHD CIC service. The Named Nurse will initiate the implementation of service development, quality assurance and possess strong leadership skills, to ensure the team deliver evidence-based, high quality holistic care in accordance with local and national frameworks and drivers such as the Intercollegiate Document (2020), Promoting the Health and well-being of looked after children (2015), NHS Long Term Plan (2019), Transitions NICE guidance (2016, NICE draft guidelines (2021).
- The Named Nurse will work in collaboration with multi agency partners at a strategic level to develop policy, best practice, development and multi agency training. They will provide expert advice and ensure that the Trust meets its statutory duties and responsibilities for care experienced young people.
- The Named Nurse will have an overview of identified health needs of the care experienced population and will strive to ensure that the CIC service meets those health needs.

CFHD provides integrated care and treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health which are provided by Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust and Devon Partnership Trust. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure we deliver locality and county wide based integrated access to all of our services, based on the i Thrive Framework.
CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and in addition support our own staff to undertake post graduate training.
Our integrated care and treatment has been developed and refined in partnership with children, young people and their families/carers.

Person Specification SCPHN or relevant experience- post registration SCPHN or previous Named Nurse experience
- Educated to master level
