Pertemps are recruiting an experienced Multi Trade Operative to join a busy Facilities team in Gillingham on a temporary assignment.

Location: Gillingham, Kent
Pay: £17.20 per hour PAYE (paid weekly)
Contract: Temporary Assignment (01 September 2026 - 31 October 2026)
Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Sunday (weekend availability required)

This Multi Trade Operative role involves carrying out a range of planned and reactive maintenance works across residential and commercial properties. We are looking for a practical, customer-focused individual who can deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance across a variety of trade disciplines.

Key Duties of the Multi Trade Operative

• General building maintenance and repairs
  
  
• Basic electrical and plumbing works
  
  
• Carpentry, painting and decorating
  
  
• Plastering and tiling repairs
  
  
• Masonry and external maintenance works
  
  
• Completing digital job sheets and maintenance records
  
  
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Multi Trade Operative, Maintenance Operative, Property Maintenance Technician or similar
  
  
• Good all-round knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, decorating, plastering, tiling and general building maintenance
  
  
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
  
  
• Strong communication and customer service skills
  
  
• Basic IT skills for completing job records
  
  
• Flexibility to work shifts Monday to Sunday, including weekends
  
  

Desirable

• Relevant trade qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent
  
  
• Experience within housing, facilities management, estates, student accommodation or commercial property environments
  
  
• Full UK Driving Licence
