The Opportunity

A well-established and highly regarded independent automotive business in North London is seeking an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join its friendly and professional workshop team. Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT testing in line with DVSA standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Perform routine servicing and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Complete repairs relating to brakes, suspension, exhausts, engines, and other vehicle systems.
• Ensure all work is completed to high safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient workshop operations.

Requirements Essential

• Qualified Vehicle Technician with Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Valid MOT Tester licence (or previous MOT testing experience).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Minimum workshop experience preferred.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• Experience working within an independent garage or dealership environment.
• Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles.
• Familiarity with modern diagnostic equipment and technology.
• Customer-facing experience.
