MOT Tester

Our client, a prominent UK automotive service provider, is seeking an experienced MOT Tester to join their busy Swindon centre.

The role of MOT Tester is vital in maintaining high standards and delivering exceptional service.

As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring vehicles meet safety standards, providing expert diagnostics, and delivering outstanding customer care.

• Up to £36,000 per annum, including performance related bonuses, with potential on target earnings of £42,000 - 41.5 hour week with flexible hours on request

Duties as MOT Tester

• Perform accurate MOT testing in accordance with Government standards
• Ensure vehicle safety through thorough diagnostics and testing
• Communicate test results clearly to customers, explaining necessary repairs and reasons for failures
• Support the workshop team with diagnostic and repair work where applicable
• Maintain accurate records of tests and repairs performed
• Assist in workshop organisation and ensure safety compliance
• Uphold high standards of health, safety, and vehicle security

Requirements

• Active Class 4 and Class 7 MOT testing licences
• UK driving licence with minimal points
• Qualifications such as IMI/NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair preferred
• Alternatively, extensive vehicle mechanic experience with an active MOT licence will be considered
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
• Flexibility to work some Saturdays and adapt to work schedule needs
