Monitoring Officer

MCS Group are proud to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation in their search for a Monitoring Officer to join their Facilities team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in building maintenance or facilities management who enjoys a varied role combining inspections, compliance, maintenance and stakeholder engagement.

The Role:Carrying out routine building inspections and statutory compliance checks across multiple sitesTesting and recording emergency lighting, fire alarms, intruder alarms, fire safety equipment, emergency exits and water hygiene systemsMaintaining accurate maintenance records, certificates and building logbooks using electronic systemsCompleting minor maintenance tasks identified during inspectionsRecording utility meter readings and monitoring building servicesChecking and resetting heating, ventilation, alarm and access control systemsCoordinating access for contractors and monitoring works completed on siteSupporting health and safety compliance through risk assessments and safe working practicesProviding guidance to building users on fire procedures, alarms and access control systemsAssisting with planned preventative maintenance programmes and condition surveysLiaising with contractors, colleagues and emergency services where requiredTravelling between sites across the borough as part of the roleThe PersonThe successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) or equivalent, plus experience in a building maintenance or facilities environmentOR

Experience in a building maintenance or facilities environmentExperience carrying out building inspections and compliance monitoringExperience maintaining accurate maintenance and compliance recordsExperience testing at least three of the following:Emergency lightingFire alarm systemsIntruder alarmsFire-fighting equipmentLegionella/domestic hot water systemsEmergency door operationExperience working with a range of internal and external stakeholdersGood IT skills with experience using electronic record management systemsFull UK driving licence (or access to suitable transport to fulfil the duties of the role)Location: Ballymena Salary: £29,000-32,000 Contract: Full-time
