Job Description

Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon. Mid Wales. £40k-£55k DOE.

Vet bills are rising and customers aren't happy? Targets are focussed on maximising profits? You're working longer hours with less breaks but still not got enough time in the day to really get to know your clients and the animals they bring to your care? Sound familiar?

You didn't become a vet to spend less time with patients, did you? Whether you're treating a beloved family pet in the consulting room or examining cattle in the field, you're a vet who cares, wants to be the best they can be, and give back to the industry you love.

Spending time with patients is what you do best, advising owners, helping animals, and doing the right thing, whether that's a routine small animal vaccination or a challenging farm call.

Choosing a new practice is a big decision, you don't want more of the same, you want to get to know your patients, spend time with them, without being micromanaged and see cases through, a place that gives value and a place where you can feel appreciated.

Luckily there are still places like this and this one is hiring.

This modern independent 4 branch setup is hiring for growth. They are looking for a mixed vet ideally with 2 years' experience in mixed practice however they are happy to talk to anyone with a want to move into mixed practice. You could join a large experienced team of vets, nurses and support staff.

Serving their community for over 130 years you will be providing high quality care to a wide range of animals from smallies, to livestock to horses. You will be diagnosing, treating and performing surgery as well as preventative health planning and emergency care.

They offer a relaxed supportive environment where everyone pulls together when there's work, and relaxes when there's time. A strong team of friends that wants the best for patients and practice. The beauty of an independent, is you aren't micro-managed, there are no silly targets for vets, and no one telling you what to do from afar. The job is tough enough without adding additional stress! Your opinion is valued here, and your voice is heard.

They have a strong focus on continued education and professional development for all staff. They're interested in improving all their team and investing in them. Because it's mutually beneficial. With plenty of experience in house and from visiting vets this is great place to learn and advance.

If you want to diversify your knowledge or get involved in training tomorrows vet they have strong links with local Universities and are one of the largest poultry vets in the UK.

It's a 5-day week here, 8:30am to 5:30pm with no evening surgery so you have time in the evening to enjoy everything wonderful Mid Wales has to offer. The OOH's rota is 1:5 nights on call and weekends plus a Saturday morning. They are very sociable team, they fire up the Barbeque in the summer and have regular team nights out throughout the year.
