Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality veterinary care across farm, equine, and small animal cases.
  • Participate in a structured rota, including set operating days and 15-minute consults in manageable consulting blocks.
  • Engage in weekly clinical meetings for case discussions and team collaboration.
  • Contribute to the out-of-hours service (1:8 rota), supported by a second on-call vet, with compensation including long weekends and additional payments for out-of-hours calls.

Working Hours

  • Normal working hours: 08:45 to 17:00, four days per week.
  • Participation in the 1:8 out-of-hours rota, with two vets on call at all times.

The practice is a well-established, genuinely mixed veterinary centre offering a wide range of services, including preventative care, diagnostics, surgery, and dental treatments. It is equipped with advanced technology such as digital x-ray (including dental and mobile for equine), ultrasound scanners for farm and equine work, small animal video endoscopes, and an in-house laboratory. The team includes experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative working environment.
