Location: Remote (UK)

Rate: £500 - £600 per day (Outside IR35)

Contract: 3 months initially, with strong potential to extend

iO Associates are partnered with a rapidly scaling data consultancy on an exciting project to migrate enterprise-scale data platforms from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.

You'll play a key role in shaping how our client's next-generation data platform is built, moving beyond traditional architectures to fully leverage the potential of Fabric. This is a hands on, delivery focused role within a fast-moving environment, perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex data challenges and driving modernisation projects forward.

• Lead the migration of existing data pipelines and workloads from Synapse into Microsoft Fabric.
• Build and optimise ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark within the Fabric environment.
• Work across OneLake, Data Factory, and Power BI to ensure seamless integration and end to end functionality.
• Redesign data models and architectures to support real time analytics and reporting.
• Implement and uphold data quality, governance, and performance best practices.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to deliver a smooth transition and measurable value.

• 3+ years' experience as a Data Engineer in Azure environments.
• Proven experience working with Azure Synapse and understanding of Fabric architecture.
• Strong hands on experience with Python, SQL, and ETL pipeline development.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Data Lake technologies.
• Experience with data migration or modernisation projects.
• A proactive, problem solving mindset with the ability to work independently in fast paced delivery settings.
