The Role & What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Team Leader who will be responsible for coordinating all microbiological tests, documentation and compliance activities assigned to the Quality Control Microbiology Laboratory.



Key expectations:

  • Co-ordinate and supervise all microbiological testing within the Microbiology Lab, ensuring all activities are carried out in a timely manner to meet company objectives.

  • Manage and support the Microbiology team, including establishing employee goals and objectives, assess performance, provide regular feedback, coach and develop and ensure dept. personnel are properly trained and remain in compliance with training requirements at all time.

  • Co-ordinate and supervise any Microbiology Laboratory Investigations. Ensure that they are closed out in a timely manner.

  • Ensure highest quality standards are maintained in areas of responsibility and that industry best practice is adopted in accordance with current GMP, GLP and regulatory directives.

  • Co-ordinate instrument calibrations and maintenance.

  • Ensure validity of all test methods in the laboratory are established and documented.

  • Maintain safety requirements



Essential experience:

  • Knowledge of working within an FDA/IMB regulated facility (preferably sterile injectables.

  • Have working knowledge of isolator technology

  • Have working knowledge of LIMS.

  • Have working knowledge of Environmental Monitoring of a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Environment

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to work cross functionally with other departments (Analytical, Quality, Manufacturing and Regulatory).



Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science related discipline (Microbiology/Pharmaceutical Sciences)

  • 5-7 years' experience in experience within a microbiology/ quality department within a pharmaceutical company.

  • Previous team lead/ supervisory experience desirable.
