MES Developer - 12+ months - Netherlands- Freelance - ASAP

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a MES Developer who will design, configure, and support automated workflows within the MES platform. You will play a key role in improving manufacturing operations through workflow development, system integration, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain MES workflows for production, consumption, labeling, and material handling.
• Integrate MES with SAP (PP/MM/QM), MOM/RTI, labeling systems, and other shop-floor platforms.
• Troubleshoot workflow errors, resolve log failures, and support plant operations during incidents.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions while acting as point of contact for multiple teams.
• Participate in SIT/UAT testing cycles and support releases and production environments.
• Document workflow logic, designs, and user guides, and mentor junior developers.

Required Skills:

• Experience with MES applications and workflow automation/orchestration tools.
• Understanding of Savigent workflows (Scan & Move, RCV).
• Basic SAP knowledge (PP/MM/QM) and integration experience with APIs, queues, or shop-floor systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Minimum 8 years of development experience in VB, .NET, C#, and full SDLC.
• Familiarity with MS SQL Server, log analysis, and PL/SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing, MES/MOM, labeling systems, or material traceability.
• Understanding of shop-floor operations.
• Exposure to DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Git).
