Purpose of the role


As the Executive Director, you will lead the Spain M&A Division. You'll be pivotal in identifying and executing opportunities, ensuring seamless transactions, and strengthening client relationships. You will be responsible for coordinating and leading all aspects of acquisition identification, outreach, meeting with business owners, structuring and negotiating deals and delivering the roll up strategy.



Job Description


  • Responsible for M&A funnel identification and acquisition targets in Spain and initiation of relationships with potential candidate, advisors etc.
  • Building and maintaining contacts with external legal and fiscal advisors.
  • Conducting in-depth financial analysis, including modelling and valuation, to assess potential M&A opportunities, risks, and mitigation action, alongside their impact on clients' financial positions and alignment with the clients' strategic objectives.
  • Leading negotiations, supporting the closing and integration.
  • Ownership of the communication flow to all relevant internal and external stakeholders during the process from the moment of first contact to completion of the acquisition/merger.
  • Oversee the professional development, training, and operational efficiency of team members.



Profile


  • Extensive experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, with a proven track record in deal-closing and demonstrable business development success (past and live pipeline).
  • Strong financial acumen, including expertise in valuation, due diligence, and market analysis. Solid analytical and modelling skills.
  • Excellent client relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Expert written communication skills, self-directed with preparation of client ready document and presentation development.
  • Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams.
  • A well-established network with private equity partners/sponsors or relevant working experience in private equity is a plus.
  • Proved Investment Banking (corporate finance/M&A) experience or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Superior negotiation and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree/ University degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
