Job Description

This is a fully Remote Locum position. We require a Minimum of 16 hours per week - up to full time hours - Service opening hours: Monday-Friday: 08.00-20.00

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality mental health support through innovative digital platforms? As aMental Health Practitioner, you will be thefirst point of contactfor patients experiencing mental health concerns, providing compassionate, patient-centred care via video and telephone consultations.

This role allows you towork independentlywhile benefiting fromclinical supervision and multidisciplinary support. You will collaborate closely with GPs, conductingmental health assessmentsand making evidence-based treatment recommendations to support primary care mental health conditions. Your interventions will play a crucial role inenhancing patient well-beingand ensuring timely escalations when needed.

Your Responsibilities

Conduct initial remote assessmentsfor patients experiencing mental health concerns.

Performholistic assessmentsaddressing physical, mental, social, and well-being needs.

Useevidence-based, patient-centered principlesto assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.

Providehealth promotion and self-care advice, empowering patients to manage their mental health effectively.

Escalate careappropriately based on clinical need and complexity.

Liaise with clinical leadershipand multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Act as akey point of contactfor patients regarding mental health and well-being concerns.

Support and manage patients in crisis, making timely and appropriate referrals.

Signpost patientsto the most suitable services or care settings.

Stayup to date with current clinical practicesand developments in mental health care.

Participate inregular clinical supervision, contributing to service improvements and best practices.

Experience & Attributes

NMC-Registered Mental Health Nurse (MHP)with a minimum oftwo years' experienceinPrimary Care or General Practice, working atBand 8a or above.

Independent Non-Medical Prescriber (V300) - (Desirable)

Experiencemanaging a caseloadin a mental health setting.

Strongcare planning and risk assessmentskills.

Experience working withinmulti-disciplinary mental health services.

experience inprimary care settings.

Experience conductingremote assessmentsvia telephone or video consultations.

Evidence ofongoing professional development, including relevant training.

Significant post-registration experiencein a mental health setting.

Key Skills & Knowledge

Strong knowledge ofmental health conditions, assessment frameworks, and evidence-based interventions.

Understanding ofclinical governance principlesin a digital healthcare setting.

Proficiency inclinical IT systems.

Ability towork effectively under pressureand manage multiple patient needs.

Commitment topatient-centred careand ongoing learning.

Strongcommunication skills, ensuring clear and empathetic interactions with patients.
