Role detailsMain area CAMHS Grade NHS AfC: Band 5/6 Contract Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexible working available). Job ref 311-HYM729-25-A. Site: Tameside CAMHS, Town Tameside. Salary £31,049 - £46,580 per annum, pro rata. Salary period: Yearly. Closing: 13/02/:59.
We are seeking to employ a number of highly motivated and skilled senior practitioners to join and expand our dynamic, friendly and diverse multidisciplinary teams. This is a real opportunity to be part of the CAMHS transformation long term plan to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people. We have opportunities for new full-time Band 6 CAMHS practitioner posts in Tameside and Glossop CAMHS, open to B4 staff due to qualify as B5. Posts are based within core CAMHS and the duty and assessment team. We offer flexibility between roles to support continued professional development.
Main duties of the jobCAMHS offers a wide range of mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions including family therapy, CBT, DBT, interpersonal therapy, EMDR, and psychotherapy for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years. You will be encouraged to explore your therapeutic interests while providing a range of CAMHS assessments/interventions. CAMHS has close links with community services to offer early help and bespoke care packages. There are opportunities to work in a true multi-agency way to deliver a whole-system offer that recognises that all children and young people matter and that their emotional wellbeing and mental health needs are understood and supported with kindness, compassion, high quality and safe care.
These posts will be responsible for providing high quality mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions for adolescents and families using evidence-based approaches.
To be responsible for and manage a defined caseload and undertake case management responsibilities within the caseload. Provide consultation, advice and training to a wide range of agencies.

Roles are varied and we aim to develop your clinical strengths and interests. You will receive ongoing support through monthly clinical supervision and line management, peer supervision, and opportunities to attend specialist treatment modality consultations. You will be supported in pursuing in-house training and external opportunities for further qualifications.
Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesYou will need the following key attributions:
- Strong Children and Young People's mental health knowledge and experience.
- Experience of using training, supervision, and consultation to support other professionals.
- Good understanding and commitment to the CAMHS transformation agenda.
- Values that align with Pennine Care Foundation NHS Trust and prioritise CYP and families.
- Registered Nurse - Mental Health, Social Work or OT qualification or equivalent with regulatory body registration
- Significant post-qualification experience in community mental health services
- Knowledge of mental health issues in young people
- Knowledge of relevant legislation andNational policies relating to young people
- Knowledge of therapeutic interventions with young people
- Understanding of Youth Offending services
- Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues relating to young people
- Professional involvement with users of mental health services
- Experience of case management of young people
- Experience of multi-agency working
- Experience of relating to young people in group or community settings
- Ability to undertake appropriate mental health assessments
- Ability to carry out therapeutic interventions with this client group
- Ability to work well with a team
- Ability to manage a caseload
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work creatively and flexibly in a clinical context
