To provide an efficient, effective and complete Mental Health Act administration service for patients who are formally detained; ensuring that the requirements of the law are met and that the rights of patients subject to the Act are safeguarded.
Job responsibilities- Provide statutory Mental Health Law compliance support to the Trust.
- Manage Mental Health Act administration for formally detained patients, ensuring legal compliance and safeguarding patient rights.
- High standard of general education: GCSE or O level equivalent.
- Certificate in MHA Law (University of Northumbria/IMHAP).
- Practical experience administering the Mental Health Act.
- Proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritise, and manage a busy workload.
- Experience working in a busy office environment.
- Working knowledge of the essential principles and components of the Mental Health Act 1983 and related procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and good keyboard skills.
- Ability to learn complex procedures quickly and thoroughly.
- Sensitive approach to patients and their relatives.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
In order to meet the needs of the Trust, you may be required from time to time to work at different locations within Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
Salary£33,262 to £36,027 a year inclusive of HCAS.
