A well-established and rapidly expanding London Market business is seeking a Senior Underwriter to lead their Medical Malpractice offering.
Their underwriting divisions focus on Mid/SME commercial business across five key units. With ambitious growth plans, they aim to expand, and this individual will play a vital role in leading the Medical Malpractice business.
The company operates a hybrid work model, combining remote work with three days per week in their City of London office. Reporting to the CEO, this role offers opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and career advancement. Key Responsibilities- Own the Medical Malpractice P&L, ensuring delivery of revenue targets, loss ratios, and profit margins.
- Lead and develop a high-performing, motivated team.
- Handle day-to-day underwriting of new business and renewals, focusing on complex risks.
- Serve as a technical referral point for junior underwriters.
- Build strong relationships with capacity providers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key broker partners to drive business growth.
- Solid experience in a senior underwriting or broking role within the Medical Malpractice market.
- Leadership and mentoring experience preferred.
- Strong business development skills, with existing relationships with UK&I Brokers advantageous.
