Medical and Scientific Advisor

As a Medical and Scientific Advisor, you will provide trusted medical and scientific leadership for a therapy area in the United Kingdom. You will work closely with colleagues across medical affairs, regulatory, access, commercial teams and external healthcare professionals. In this role you will- Maintain the highest standards of compliance, offering authoritative advice on medical and ethical issues to ensure evidence based use of GSK medicines and adherence to statutory requirements (e.g. ABPI Code of Practice, Medicines Act, EU Directives).
- Conduct medical review, examination, and certification of materials, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and deliver the medical aspects of therapy area business plans, which may include evidence generation, medical education, advice seeking, patient advocacy, internal training and external engagement, working closely with internal and above country teams on both launch and pipeline assets.
- Coordinate with therapy aligned colleagues to shape and implement both short and long term medical strategies that benefit patients, healthcare professionals, and GSK.
- Influence clinical research strategies for the UK market, which may include supporting study allocation, local protocol development, engagement with investigators, and providing input into post study analysis.
- A GMC registered doctor or GPhC registered pharmacist with the right to work in the UK who is an ABPI final signatory.
- Demonstrated experience in medical affairs, or a related role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
- Experience engaging with healthcare professionals, clinical investigators and external scientific advisors, with ability to work cross functionally.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Proactive, self motivated, self reliant.
- Relevant therapy area knowledge highly desirable (haemato oncology).
- A good understanding of the changing UK health care environment, including understanding of health technology assessments and market access challenges in the UK.
- Experience in medical governance, medical information review and compliance processes.
- Proven ability to lead cross functional projects or small teams.
This role is hybrid. You should be willing to work from a UK office with regular field and stakeholder meetings.
