Job Description

Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world's longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site's audience of over 6 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 18 years.

Purpose of the role:

Resident Advisor seeks a hungry, tenacious salesperson to drive revenue from brands and non-promoter partners. This role is about leading the sales of media campaigns to companies looking to connect with our global electronic music audience, primarily across music tech, lifestyle and culture. You'll be expected to prospect hard, close deals, and hit targets, while also generating leads and building relationships for deeper partnerships within our creative studio, 23:59.

You'll need to balance day-to-day pipeline management and campaign sales with a broader instinct for brand building and long-term commercial growth. You'll be on the front line: introducing RA to new clients, finding creative angles, and developing meaningful relationships that grow over time. It's a fast-paced, results-driven role with plenty of room to make an impact on the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own and grow a personal sales pipeline, with a focus on music tech and non-endemic brands
  • Sell digital advertising across RA's media channels - from display to sponsored content
  • Prospect new leads through outreach, networking and AI-powered research
  • Develop new advertising campaign strategies aligned with client goals and audience behaviour
  • Develop, build and maintain relationships with our media, brands and advertising partners across the culture and electronic music industry
  • Manage individual Media sales pipeline ensuring all revenue targets are exceeded
  • Develop pitch materials and sales narratives that connect brand goals with RA's platform
  • Generate and qualify brand leads for larger creative partnerships with 23:59
  • Manage campaigns from initial brief to final reporting, working closely with Ad Ops
  • Integrate AI tools into your daily work practice from research, outreach and managing the sales funnel
  • 3+ years of direct sales experience with proven ability to win business and exceed targets
  • A great understanding of the digital advertising landscape
  • Proficiency in Google Ad Manager is preferred
  • Enthusiastic aptitude for brands and the culture marketing work they do
  • Embedded within their local scene with an existing network
  • Relationships with advertising agencies would be advantageous
  • An understanding of music technology products is desirable
  • A passion and knowledge of electronic music culture are fundamental
  • Outgoing personality who builds networks quickly, and can work as part of a team
  • Keen adoption of AI tools for efficient, reach and growth from the outset

What we offer you:

  • Generous annual leave policies aimed at promoting work-life balance.
  • Flexibility in working arrangements, offering hybrid or remote work options based on role requirements and location.
  • Matching pension schemes and/or 401k.
  • Comprehensive staff wellbeing initiatives, featuring regular activities and workplace programmes to support mental and physical health. This includes discounted Classpass memberships, and custom-fitted earplugs.
  • Company-led social events, team lunches, and discounts on RA merch.
  • Paid annual volunteering allowance, encouraging contributions to community projects and charities you care about.
  • Regular company-wide Q&A's with senior leadership, along with ongoing virtual educational training sessions for all staff.

As an independent company run by devoted dance music enthusiasts, our mission is to bring together the world's electronic music communities. Our Global Contributor Network (GCN) and international teams help us establish connections with hyper-niche local scenes.

We became B-Corp certified in 2024, which counts us among businesses leading a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy and part of a community that meets high social and environmental impact standards.

We especially welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, experiences, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We aim for our team to reflect the communities we engage with. We ensure everyone is valued and respected by actively promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in our workplace.

Our values:

  • Electronic music is art.
  • We celebrate the progressive values that underpin electronic music.
  • We advocate for a more inclusive and equitable electronic music community.
  • We honour the past, present and future of electronic music.
  • We use innovation to empower the community.
  • We choose honesty over gain and purpose over profit.
  • We're always front left.
