Our client is a leading global EPCM company with worldwide operations and projects across Ireland. They are currently seeking experienced Mechanical/HVAC Engineers to join their team. They have two positions available.
This role involves working as part of a multi-discipline highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, assembly & test facilities, and other state of the art advanced facilities.
The ideal candidate is a self motivated individual with strong communication skills and a passion for applying their professional experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and rewarding projects. They understand the importance of meeting commitments while remaining flexible in a fast paced, ever changing client environment.
Responsibilities- Coordinate, allocate, and assign essential engineering and design tasks to develop construction documents in collaboration with a team of engineers and designers.
- Manage scope, budget and schedule to meet project goals.
- Coordinate and collaborate real time with other disciplines such as electrical, structural, architectural and process to develop designs.
- Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi discipline designers.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations.
- Assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.
- Perform Mech/HVAC plant design work across several engineering disciplines in 2D/3D integrated design systems.
- Execute quality review checks for 2D/3D modelling and Mech/HVAC deliverables.
- Develops designer effort hour estimates for Mech/HVAC discipline.
- Are responsible for up front site selection and due diligence activities.
- Apply judgment in developing plans or alternatives and work with teams to assure quality plans.
- Execute field activities such as observation of construction activities.
- Review construction submittals for conformance with the intent of contract and design documents.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to project engineers and designers on a project by project basis.
- Minimum qualification of bachelor's degree in building services/mechanical engineering.
- 5+ years of engineering/design experience in the Mech/HVAC systems.
- Preferable experience in semiconductor or large scale industrial projects, with skills including wet and dry processes, calculations, specifications, detailing, and equipment sizing.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite (Excel).
- Relevant experience in engineering/design in industrial/advanced technology sector.
- Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
- Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels.
- Experience using Navisworks in a BIM environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
