Mechanical Supervisor

The closing date is 07 April 2026

The role will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical related maintenance and installation activities, including contract works is reviewed and completed to an appropriate standard throughout the Estate.

The role will require the post holder to work closely with technical and non-technical colleagues as part of providing a specialist mechanical knowledge and review process or as part of the overall planning of activities undertaken and completed by directly employed labour and contractors.

You should also possess good interpersonal and communication skills including IT and both written and verbal.

This role includes on-call responsibilities. To meet service needs, you must be able to attend the hospital within an appropriate timeframe when called, hold a valid driving licence, and have use of your own vehicle.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification Qualifications
  • HNC / BTech or at least City & Guilds or NVQ 3 equivalent in a Mechanical/Plant Engineering
Experience
  • Knowledge of the relevant HTM's
  • Have satisfactorily completed supervisory courses, and recognized apprenticeship in a Mechanical Trade discipline.
  • Current AP in various disciplines including HVAC, Water Hygiene and pressure system
  • Has worked in an Acute Health care environment previously
Skills
  • Hold a valid driving licence
  • Use and familiarisation of external CAFM systems
