Overview

Are you a driven Mechanical Engineer with a passion for continuous improvement and technical excellence? We're looking for a talented individual to join our team and play a key role in shaping our Asset Management Strategy and driving engineering standards across our operations.

Role Purpose

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you'll provide expert engineering support to our Maintenance and Production teams, helping to develop and implement systems that enhance safety, reliability, and performance. You'll lead technical investigations, support minor project delivery, and coach team members to build capability across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical support and guidance to Operations, Maintenance Technicians and Apprentices.
  • Develop and implement engineering standards to reduce risk and improve compliance.
  • Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement preventative measures.
  • Identify and deliver improvements to meet SHE, Quality, Availability, and Cost targets.
  • Manage the design, installation, and commissioning of plant modifications and minor projects.
  • Support relevant capital projects including the integration of new assets into existing processes.
  • Manage the mechanical aspects of the site CMMS.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering and SHE standards across all activities.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical equipment, especially rotating machinery (e.g., pumps, centrifuges).
  • Deep understanding of piping systems and fluid mechanics.
  • Experience with legal compliance systems such as PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, COMAH.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Familiarity with asset reliability principles including condition monitoring and FMECA.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and technical report writing abilities.
Qualifications & Memberships
  • Degree in an Engineering discipline or Equivalent experience - Essential
  • Membership of a professional engineering body - Essential
