Venn Group's specialist Estates & Asset Management recruitment team is recruiting for a MechanicalTechnical Lead - Renewable Technologies on behalf of a leading housing organisation based in Kent. This permanent opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in delivering renewable energy solutions, improving asset performance, and supporting the transition to low-carbon heating technologies across a large property portfolio.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Acting as the technical lead and subject matter expert for renewable technologies, including air source heat pumps and solar PV systems.
• Diagnosing complex faults, improving asset performance, and supporting repairs teams with specialist technical advice.
• Developing and maintaining technical standards, procedures, and best-practice guidance for renewable technologies.
• Delivering coaching, mentoring, and technical training to operational teams to improve service delivery and first-time fix rates.
• Supporting long-term sustainability strategies, investment planning, and lifecycle management of renewable assets.
• Working closely with manufacturers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure quality installations, compliance, and continuous improvement.

About You

• Significant experience working with air source heat pumps and other low-carbon heating technologies.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostics, and maintenance experience across heating systems, controls, and hydronic systems.
• Experience supporting, coaching, or mentoring technical teams.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing, Heating, HVAC, or Building Services.
• Heat Pump Qualification (BPEC or equivalent), F-Gas Certification, and Unvented Hot Water Qualification.
• Full UK Driving Licence and strong IT skills.
• Knowledge of landlord compliance obligations, housing standards, building regulations, and renewable technology best practice.

Key Details

• Salary: £52,471 per annum
• Location: Kent / Hybrid
• Contract: Permanent
• Hours: 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• DBS: Basic DBS required
