We at AEON build robust, clean infrastructure for island and remote populations. Our main offering is a floating energy platform that will be installed in Singapore by the end of 2026 and integrates solar and tidal power. We've constructed and implemented the initial prototype, and with support from Innovate UK, we're starting a new stage of development to prepare the system for long-term deployments.Leading important aspects of the platform's structural design, such as the main frame, buoyancy system, and integration of essential components, all the way up to deployment, is part of this function. For an engineer that enjoys switching between design, testing, and witnessing their work being put into practice in actual installations, it's a hands-on profession. A small, R&D-focused team will include you. We're searching for someone who shares our strong emphasis on practical decision-making, organised thinking, and clarity. As the system develops, you should feel comfortable moving forward on your own, communicating your ideas clearly, and cooperating with others. This position is a good fit for you if you're meticulous, inquisitive, and driven by difficulties in the real world.

What you're going to do:
  • Participate in the main frame, buoyancy modules, and subsystem interfaces of the floating platform's structural design.
  • Oversee the turbine's design and integration into the building.
  • Support the hydrodynamic testing process and aid in the integration of mooring sites.
  • Test and prototype in both sizable wave basins and our expanding office workshop.
  • Assist our local partners in organising the deployment's planning and execution, including transportation to the installation location.
  • Keep thorough records of all engineering judgements, hypotheses, and test findings.
  • Take part in team planning meetings and design evaluations.
Skills needed:
  • Degree in structural, mechanical, offshore, or aerodynamic engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of one to two years of engineering job experience.
  • Strong CAD abilities (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or comparable).
  • Interest in practical infrastructure and sustainable energy.
  • The capacity to communicate your ideas clearly and keep people informed.
  • Capable of taking charge of a space while cooperating with others.
Benefits
  • Pay range: £40,000 to £50,000, based on experience.
  • We sponsor skilled visas for talent from around the world.
  • Health insurance.
