Job Description

Mechanical Draftsman/Design Engineer - MOD / Defence Equipment

Swindon, Wiltshire (Hybrid Working, 3 days office, 2 days remote)

Duration - 5 months.

Project - ESF Facility

£35p/hr ltd - Outside IR35

Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible to obtain entry level security checks (BPSS)

Responsibilities

Produce drawings for parts of equipment including generators and distribution equipment
Lead and contribute to the mechanical design of systems and supporting structures
Provide engineering support through prototype build, testing, and qualification phases, resolving design issues and implementing corrective actions.
Conduct design reviews and configuration management activities in collaboration with Maintenance and Mechanical Engineering teams

Experience and Qualifications

Over 5 years' experience within design engineering, having completed projects of generators and distribution equipment
Proficient in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
Familiarity with MOD standards and Defence Standards relevant to mechanical and power systems.
Understanding of manufacturing processes for military grade equipment
