Job Description
What You Need to Know:

Here's your chance to join a growing team as a Mechanical Design Engineer at intermediate or senior level, depending on your experience. This role is based in Kilkenny with an office-based presence required for the first 6 months after that, hybrid options may be considered. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to a mix of projects and really put your mechanical design skills to the test.

Your New Job:

In this position, you'll be involved in designing building mechanical systems, collaborating with clients and engineers, and supporting project delivery from start to finish. You'll report to a Director and may also help mentor junior team members. The contract is full-time and begins in-office in Kilkenny.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed designs, schematics, and calculations for mechanical building systems
  • Ensure compliance with current standards and regulations
  • Coordinate with clients and project teams to clarify requirements and deliver solutions
  • Prepare budget estimates and assess contractor claims
  • Maintain documentation to ISO standards
  • Conduct site inspections and review technical submittals
  • Participate in technical workshops and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead aspects of project delivery, including technical queries and drawing updates
  • Support mentoring and knowledge-sharing within the team
What Are We Looking For?
  • Relevant Level 7 Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of experience in a design office environment
  • Expertise in mechanical system design and knowledge of applicable regulations
  • Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, magicad, 3D modelling such as IES is a plus)
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Experience working to ISO standards and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Full clean (or in progress) European Driving Licence
  • Valid work authorisation for Ireland
