Mechanical Design Engineer

1st Step Solutions are supporting one of our clients who have an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team based in London. Our client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy of 65-70 professionals, specialising in MEP services and building consultancy. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow within a supportive team.

The Role

This is a varied role combining high-quality mechanical design work with hands on site involvement. In addition to design responsibilities, you will regularly attend site to survey plantrooms, contribute to CAPEX planning, and produce project estimate schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical design across a range of building services projects
• Surveying plantrooms and existing installations
• Supporting CAPEX planning and project scoping
• Preparing cost estimates and project schedules
• Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders

About You

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience in mechanical design (building services/environment preferred)
• Comfortable carrying out site surveys and working independently
• Based in, or able to commute within, Greater London
• Organised, practical, and commercially aware
