Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical and public health design duties while overseeing junior staff. Your expertise will be integral in providing project management and administration duties, as well as monitoring design team costs, ensuring all projects align with the specified programme and budget. The role demands a flexible approach, with opportunities to conduct condition and feasibility surveys across various locations in England and to work closely with clients to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement company procedures and policies effectively.
  • Manage the mechanical design and project management of diverse projects according to company aims.
  • Conduct condition and feasibility surveys, generating insightful reports.
  • Lead a design team while providing comprehensive mechanical engineering support to electrical engineers.
  • Liaise with clients and actively participate in project-related meetings.
  • Expand and enhance the client base for PinnacleESP.
  • Perform quality inspections of mechanical designs and projects.
  • Utilize CAD/BIM systems in alignment with company procedures.
  • Oversee financial aspects of projects, ensuring they remain within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical standards within the organization.
Experience and Skills Required:
  • Proficient in Revit MEP and Hevacomp/IES VE.
  • In-depth knowledge of current Building Regulations and renewable technologies.
  • Experience with IES Thermal Modelling, SAPs, SBEM Calculations, EPCs, BREEAM, GLA London Plan, and Passivhaus Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in a small/medium-sized consultancy or large contractor/local authority in a design capacity.
  • Proven track record in project management of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Capability to produce detailed specifications and design calculations.
  • Skilled in creating tender packages and conducting tender analysis.
  • Excellent ability to manage budget costings related to services.
  • Willingness to travel for site surveys across the UK using personal vehicle or public transport.
  • Experience in on-site project management and producing various reports.
